Eyelash Extensions FAQs

Why Novalash® Eyelash Extensions?
We use Novalash® professional products because they produce the highest quality products and supplies.  They are the only lash company approved by the AEWCA, the American Extended Wear Cosmetics Association which tests and approves permanent makeup pigments, self-tanners, and semi-permanent lash extension adhesives.  To be considered safe, American industry standards must be followed.

What are extensions?
Lash extensions are one strand of synthetic hair, curved to make them look natural when applied.  They are weightless, and feel and look like real lashes.  They are applied to your natural lashes one at a time with adhesive.  The bonding adhesive bonds the extension to your natural lash, and allows the lash to remain flexible.  A full set can take up to four hours initially.  For best results wear no eye makeup prior to the service.

What kind of adhesive is used?
The Novalash® adhesive is pharmaceutical grade, physician formulated, formaldehyde-free, and lasts up to four times longer than competing brands.

How long do they last?
When properly applied and with proper maintenance at home, extensions can last the length of the natural growth cycle of each eyelash hair.  In general the eyelash growth cycle is about 100 days; however, we lose eyelashes daily.  The adhesive can last up to six weeks but touch ups are required every 3-4 weeks after the initial full-set application.

Can I use mascara?
Yes but waterproof mascara is NOT recommended.  You may wear a water-soluble, glycol-free mascara, on the tips only.  You may use gentle oil products, such as baby oil or even olive oil to remove your eye makeup.  Our Aftercare kit is specially made to be safest and gentlest on your extensions.  It is complete with mascara and a gentle nighttime eyelash conditioner/eye makeup remover.

Aftercare
It is very important for your eyelash extensions to dry completely, usually 24 hours.  During this time, do not attempt to apply and remove makeup, shower or get them wet, as it will compromise the adhesive.
